On this week’s Dear Katie, I was asked: Even with ChatGPT and other AI tools, content creation still feels like a lot of work. If you only had a little bit of time per week to spend on content, where would you spend it?
If you’re on social media, listen to podcasts or read blogs, you’ve seen the “superhero” content creators that raise families, run companies and respond to emails like responsible adults while using a content creation system to crank out:
When people see this level of content creation, it’s common to think:
But here’s the truth. Every creator who seems to be unstoppable relies on a content creation system.
You can do this even if you have little time.
I’m going to show you how to create more content faster and easier. Even if you have 30 minutes per week, the system below will turn you into one of the most efficient content creators you know.
Start with dedicating 20 minutes each week to recording a single video. Don’t aim for perfection. Avoid overcomplicating things by worrying about:
I recommend just getting started instead of putting up roadblocks that stop you from creating content.
Do you have a webcam?
That’s all you need to begin recording content.
Here’s where the magic comes to life. Once your video is done, drop it into Descript. This is where the fun begins.
Use Descript’s tools to:
Descript is a powerful tool, and while the adjust your eyes tool is sometimes a flop, the tools the platform offers reduce the time you spend on content dramatically.
But we’re not done yet.
Once you’ve cleaned up your recording, you can export your video to YouTube or your computer in minutes.
After you have your long-form video taken care of, you can repurpose it.
Descript can help here, too. You can use it to create multiple posts for:
Descript will caption the content for you, and even format and package it.
This alone is weeks of content, all from one single recording.
Now, let’s move over to Canva, which can help us take that same idea and instantly turn it into a carousel.
You can also use Canva to create quote graphics sharing:
With Canva, you can make these graphics in just a few minutes.
Now, it’s time to shift over to writing. Here, AI can do a lot of the heavy lifting.
The goal isn’t to reinvent the wheel here. You want to reshape the messages for each format.
At this point, one idea has transformed into a:
The best part? You don’t need five hours a week to build an entire content ecosystem.
All you need is 20 minutes of talking and a little bit of time spent processing each week. Even an hour would give you a TON of content.
So, what should you do if you only have a little time to spend on content?
Focus on recording one thing (something AI can’t create for you): Your voice. Your story. Your point of view.
For everything else? Let the tools help.
Remember that you don’t need to create MORE content. You just need a smarter way to create.
And, that’s a wrap on this Dear Katie question.

Now I want to hear from you. Do you have a question?
Until next time, cheers to your success!

Dedicate just 20 minutes a week to record a video. Use tools like Descript to edit and repurpose that content into multiple formats, such as social media posts and blog articles.
Descript is great for editing videos and generating captions, while Canva can help you create visually appealing graphics quickly. AI tools like ChatGPT can assist in writing blog posts and newsletters.
No, you can start with just a webcam. Focus on recording your voice and message rather than worrying about fancy equipment.
After recording a video, you can use Descript to create short clips, social media posts, and even a blog post or newsletter from the same content.
Concentrate on sharing your unique voice and perspective. Let tools handle the rest, so you can create authentic content without spending excessive time.
