On this week’s Dear Katie, someone asked: I really loved your episode on how to add more revenue to your firm this year. Do you have other suggestions on how we can do so? Maybe a part 2 to what you covered before?
And I think this is something that everyone should be asking:
How can we earn more this year while adding more value?
(And that doesn’t always mean working more to earn more!)
If you missed my prior episode, you can read it in blog form here, but I suggest making revenue in a few ways:
And while you should be leveraging each of those points to make more money, there’s even more that you can do. You’ve spent time learning how to build a brand and effort doing so. Now it’s time to use that brand power to your advantage.
You already use products that your audience would love to hear about, so why not make some money when they buy them? Affiliate marketing gives you a commission or flat fee when an item is sold using your code or link, depending on the program.
Two methods that work great include:
Amazon is Amazon – everyone uses it. Consumers trust the platform. It’s easy to create a storefront and then share your favorite products using an affiliate link.
For example, let’s assume that people love your office. You can link and share:
And when people buy these items, you’ll receive a commission on it. You can be tactical with what you share, too. If people want to know what you’re reading, you can share your recently read books with them.
You know your audience well, so be sure to share items with them that you know they’ll love.
If you love your new running shoes or an amazing espresso with the perfect crema, share it in a link and add affiliate income to your revenue streams.
Are you using any apps that your network could benefit from? Sign up to become an affiliate with them, and you can get a kickback every time you refer someone.
Think about all of the apps that you use right now that others may want to use, too – payroll software, practice management software or any other subscriptions you have that you love.
Affiliate marketing gives you an opportunity to get paid for sharing the products you already use and love.
Once you start recommending products through affiliate marketing, you’ll want to take it a step further and earn 100% of the profits with digital products.
Digital products are such a great way to generate more revenue without putting more work on your plate. Why not create your own and sell them?
The key is to create something that your clients will love.
Is there something that you use regularly for your clients that you can turn into a digital product you can sell?
For example, maybe you have a template that you use for cash flow forecasting or tax planning. You could easily offer this template as a digital product with very little work.
Maybe you don’t want to invest the time and resources into building a community or launching a course right now (as discussed in part 1 of earning more revenue this year here – here), but you still want to generate revenue regularly by providing high-quality content.
What can you do? You have a few options:
There’s no right or wrong way to leverage paid content. Find what works for you, your brand, and your firm.
There you have it! Three ways to add more revenue to your firm just by leveraging the power of your brand.
And, that’s a wrap on this Dear Katie question.

Now I want to hear from you. Do you have a question?
Until next time, cheers to your success!
Katie
Affiliate marketing allows you to earn commissions by promoting products or services that your audience already trusts. By sharing links to items you use and love, like software or office supplies, you can generate additional revenue without extra work.
Consider creating templates or tools that you already use for clients, such as cash flow forecasting templates or tax planning guides. These can be easily turned into digital products that provide value to your clients.
You could create a paid newsletter or podcast where subscribers receive exclusive content. Additionally, you can seek sponsorships for your content, allowing brands to reach your audience while you generate revenue.
Choose products that you genuinely use and believe will benefit your audience. Think about software, tools, or resources that align with your firm’s services and that your clients would find valuable.
If you have a dedicated audience and valuable content to share, a paid community can provide a steady revenue stream. However, it requires commitment to maintain engagement and deliver consistent value.
Begin by signing up for affiliate programs related to products you already use. Then, create content that naturally incorporates these products, sharing your affiliate links through your website, social media, or newsletters.
